In the 14th century, there were relatively few weapons in common use. Armour had developed very slowly, and as the 14th century began, warriors were going into battle wearing very similar gear to that their great-grandads were wearing. But through the next hundred years, plate armour become increasingly common, and brought changes in weaponry with it. For the few years in the middle of the century which concern the Ravensrodd setting, though, we only need to concern ourselves with about a dozen types.
From the point of view of game mechanics, I wanted to restrict the effects of different weaponry - I wanted the fighter to be the important bit, not his weapon. So the only information I've included for each weapon is Range, Damage modifier, and any Special rules. Even keeping it that simple though, a dagger works very differently to a greataxe.
